b'NAVA BARAK Nava Barak began her work in the public sphere after many years teaching in Israels school system. In 1996, Nava joined the Board of Directors of ELEM/Youth in Distress in Israel, a non-profit organization which was founded with the goal of assisting vulnerable youth. Later she became the President and in this role, she worked incessantly to raise public awareness of the problems of youth at risk in Israel. Outside of her work with ELEM, Nava also serves as a Board Member of the AmericaIsrael Friendship League and of the Friends of Rabin Medical Center.
